Youth Skills Training
CDI is proud to partner with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry to bring the Youth Skills Training program to area high schools.
What is Youth Skills Training?
- The Youth Skills Training (YST) program provides exposure to industry, related classroom instruction, and safety training to students 16 and older.
- CDI's YST program is approved by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI).
- CDI has partnered with Owatonna High School and have several students participating in meaningful paid work.
Purpose of YST
- Provide 16-17 year old student learners with interest in the industry a safe, healthy, and relevant work experience.
- Provide students with an alternative to enrolling directly into a high-cost, debt incurring four-year degree program without a plan.
What does it take to get involved?
- It only takes one teacher, one industry partner, one class, and one student to get involved.
- With CDI's partnership as an approved employer with DLI, most of the heavy lifting has already been done!
