CDI is proud to be part of a community – Owatonna and the world. 

Employees are encouraged to volunteer and support various non-profit, civic, youth, church and school organizations. 

We enjoy coming together and making a difference, like we have done in these people’s lives.

Bretha Lumantas, a native Filipino, oversees the Home of Refuge and feeds 200-300 children weekly in Ozamis City, Philippines. At first she served the children from her home, but now, thanks to generosity of people in the U.S., she is able to obtain a structure with long tables for seating many children. CDI has been a partner with Home of Refuge for over 25 years.

The Impact Ministries International (IMI) City of Refuge Honduras is a place of hope and refuge for widows and orphans in El Motalal Comayagua Honduras. The City of Refuge is a Christ-centered, non-denominational, self-sustaining children's home, bilingual school and missions base.

United Way of Steele County has a vision for a sustainable and vibrant community where residents enjoy an enriching quality of life, economic opportunities, self-sufficiency, and are secure knowing a network of human service agencies is ready to assist them if needed.

The goal of our Unique Finds thrift store is to bring people together and continue to build a strong community of inclusiveness, connectedness, and support.  All proceeds from the store go toward supporting Community Pathways and its services.

Winner's Home is an orphange home in Uganda where children receive food, healthcare, education & housing. This is part of Community Concern Ministries Uganda which began in the home of Pastor Timothy Kakooza and his wife Janepher in 1995.

Free Clinic of Steele County (part of HealthFinders Collaborative) provides uninsured and/or underinsured in Steele County with access to acute non-life threatening medical care and a non-comprehensive dental care to help them get out of pain. They also provide medical assistance to those that need it. No one is charged for services provided.

The Moonlighters Exchange Club of Owatonna is a service organization that supports causes that are foucsed on child abuse prevention, patriotism and community service.  They have been working toward establishing a Veterans Memorial that will be located near 18th Street and Austin Road in Owatonna.

The Owatonna Foundation has made and continues to make major contributions to the welfare of our community.  To meet the ever-changing needs of the community, the Foundation has helped with grants to various support groups for capital purchases and improvements.

761 Foundation

The 761 Foundation funds enhance existing district programs and encourage the development of innovative programs. Some of the areas currently benefiting from ISD No. 761 Foundation include agriculture, industrial technology, math programs/scholarships, geography, athletics, music, professional teacher training, student scholarships, and more.

Center of Family Unity provides dependable and efficient support-based in-home mentoring to parents can use additional support to be successful parents. We understand that parenting is one of the most demanding jobs and believe that parents can utilize our comprehensive techniques to provide a safe and nurturing home for their children.

Ride for the Brand – Americans with Disabilities focuses on children with special needs ages Kindergarten thru grade 12 to come and experience the gentleness and therapeutic traits of horses. The participants can ride horse back or in horse drawn wagons. This program gives those with challenges in their life the opportunity, kindness, respect and support to help them saddle-up and “Ride for the Brand”. The event is held each Thursday evening in July.

The Owatonna High School Carolers started back in 1938 as a mixing of an afterschool program and a church group. It has since grown into one of the longest traditions taking place at OHS.  The cheer and spirit of the community is also an important factor for the students.

Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. CDI is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations in partnership with the American Red Cross.
