Guiding Growth and Leadership Excellence in the HVAC Industry
We are pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Peterson to Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective January 1, 2025. With over two decades of experience at CDI, Mike has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the company’s mission, values, and growth. In his new role, he will oversee expanded responsibilities, including human resources, while reporting directly to Tom Peterson, CEO and Founder.

Mike’s journey with CDI began as a drafter during high school, progressing through product development, engineering, and sales management. His recent roles as Vice President of Sales and Engineering, Vice President of Operations, and then Vice President have delivered strong business results through lean methodology, mentorship, and strategic process improvements. His preparation for the COO role includes participating in a peer CEO C-12 group for the past four years and completing EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) leadership training.

As COO, Mike will assimilate expanded operational duties, including human resources, while continuing to develop and align strategic initiatives to strengthen CDI’s leadership position in the HVAC industry.

Mike Peterson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. His contributions to CDI’s growth and success reflect his dedication to excellence and innovation.
